PLEASANTON, Calif. (June 12, 2002) Panoptx® has
introduced three new lenses to the world of eyewear. From the
pioneer in Windless Eyewear™, these long-awaited innovations
in lens technology provide optimum visibility and versatility
without compromising vision. The Spectracoat lens, Varia Plus
lens and Shooter Yellow lens all provide 100-percent UV protection
and feature hydrophilic, anti-fog, scratch-resistant coatings
on the inner surface and harder coatings on the front surface.
Developed to work effectively with Panoptx’ proprietary
Ocular Surround System™ (OSS™) featuring ULTRAPLUSH™ face
foam, the lenses and OSS combine to provide expanded peripheral
vision and a superior shield from wind, dust, snow, debris and
harmful UV rays. Panoptx engineers lenses to offer maximum comfort
and a tear-free, fog-free visual experience unmatched in the
eyewear industry.
Spectracoat Lens
Panoptx’ new Spectracoat lens is a true Day/Night lens, an upgraded version
of the existing Clear Spectra lens. This premium lens is ideal for riding,
working to boost and mute certain colors while reducing glare from dawn to
dusk. Providing the ultimate in visual protection, quality and performance,
the Spectracoat lens features a light amber tint during the day and a clear
tint at night, improving night vision and reducing headlight glare. The high-end
versatility and performance of this lens has led the Spectracoat to be known
as “a graphic equalizer for your eyes.”
Varia Plus Lens
Varia Plus was developed using a new variachromatic formula in a new polyurethane
material. The Varia Plus adjusts tint from light copper to a dark grey 30-percent
faster and grows 30-percent darker than the previous Varia lens. The Varia
Plus also features an anti-fog coating directly on the inside of the lens.
This single lens technology increases clarity and reduces lens distortion
since an additional “anti-fog lens” is no longer necessary. Introduced
in the Convertible and Cyclone frames, the Varia Plus lens represents a new
element of comfort and performance.
Shooter Yellow Lens
Ideal for hunters and shooters, the Shooter Yellow single lens highlights objects
during the day and at night and features an attractive yellow-colored lens.
Complete with a polycarbonate lens that increases depth perception in all
light conditions, the Shooter Yellow lens features a hard coat resistant
to scratching with over 50-percent visible light transmission, allowing Panoptx
to effectively service the outdoor enthusiast.
“Combined with the technology of the Ocular Surround System,
these three lenses areexciting representations of visual innovation
and uncompromised quality synonymous with Panoptx.” says
Joel Olney, co-founder of Panoptx. “We consistently aim
to produce superior eyewear that allows active consumers to perform
at their highest level – these lens introductions allow
us to accomplish that.”
